Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the StriveSEN website (strivesen.com) and any tutoring, assessment, or learning support services provided by StriveSEN. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use our website or services.

StriveSEN is a trading name of StriveSEN. Our registered address is 2 Dairy Close, NW10 3RJ.

2. Our Services

2.1 What We Provide

StriveSEN provides specialist SEN tutoring and learning support for children with special educational needs. Our services include:

  • Initial learning readiness assessments

  • Structured small-group tutoring sessions delivered in 4-week blocks

  • One-to-one targeted support sessions

  • Progress tracking and session reports for parents/carers

  • Guidance on supporting your child’s learning at home

2.2 What We Do Not Provide

StriveSEN is a tutoring and learning support service. We are not a medical, therapeutic, clinical, or legal service. Specifically:

  • We do not provide diagnoses or clinical assessments of any kind

  • We do not provide speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, art psychotherapy, counselling, or any other regulated therapeutic intervention

  • We do not provide legal advice, including advice on SEND Tribunal proceedings, Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications or amendments, or complaints against schools or local authorities

  • We do not act as advocates or representatives in any formal proceedings

Any observations we make about a child’s learning, behaviour, or progress during sessions are educational observations only and should not be treated as clinical or diagnostic opinions.

3. Referrals and External Organisations

This section is important. Please read it carefully.

3.1 Information, Not Referrals

Our website and staff may from time to time signpost, mention, or provide links to external organisations, charities, support services, local authority resources, or other third parties. This includes, but is not limited to, content in our Resources section, parent guides, and verbal guidance given during conversations with parents or carers.

This signposting is provided for general information purposes only. It does not constitute a referral, recommendation, or endorsement of any external organisation, their services, their staff, or the quality of their provision.

3.2 No Liability for External Organisations

StriveSEN has no control over and accepts no responsibility for:

  • The content, accuracy, availability, or quality of any external website or resource we link to or mention

  • The services, advice, or support provided by any external organisation

  • Any loss, harm, or dissatisfaction arising from your engagement with any external organisation, whether or not we mentioned or linked to them

  • Any decisions you make based on information provided by external organisations

We strongly recommend that you carry out your own research and due diligence before engaging with any external organisation, and that you seek independent professional advice (legal, medical, or otherwise) where appropriate.

3.3 EHCP and Local Authority References

Where our programmes reference alignment with EHCP outcomes, this means that we aim to support the educational targets set out in your child’s plan through our tutoring sessions. This does not mean that we are delivering provision specified in the EHCP, that we are acting as a provider commissioned by a local authority, or that our sessions are a substitute for any provision your child is legally entitled to.

If you believe your child is not receiving the provision set out in their EHCP, we would encourage you to raise this directly with your child’s school and local authority. We are not able to intervene in disputes between parents and local authorities.

4. Assessments

Our initial assessments are designed to understand your child’s current learning needs, confidence levels, and engagement patterns so that we can recommend the most appropriate support. They are educational assessments, not clinical or diagnostic assessments.

By submitting an initial assessment form, you confirm that the information you provide about your child is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. You agree that we may use this information to assess your child’s suitability for our programmes and to plan their support.

Submitting an assessment form does not guarantee a place on any programme. We will contact you to discuss next steps following our review.

5. Programme Structure and Enrolment

5.1 4-Week Blocks

Our tutoring programmes are delivered in structured 4-week blocks. Each block has defined learning objectives which are reviewed at the end of the period. Continued enrolment for subsequent blocks is subject to availability, mutual agreement, and the ongoing suitability of the programme for your child.

5.2 Fees and Payment

Fees for each 4-week block will be confirmed before enrolment. Payment is due in advance / upon enrolment for each block. We will provide a clear breakdown of costs before you commit.

StriveSEN reserves the right to amend fees for future blocks with reasonable notice.

5.3 Cancellations and Refunds

If you wish to cancel your child’s enrolment before a 4-week block begins, please notify us at least 7 days in advance. Cancellations made with sufficient notice will be refunded in full.

Once a block has started, fees for that block are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances, which we will consider on a case-by-case basis.

If a session is cancelled by StriveSEN (for example, due to tutor illness), we will offer a replacement session or credit toward the next block.

5.4 Attendance

Regular attendance is important for your child’s progress. If your child is unable to attend a session, please let us know as soon as possible. Missed sessions are not automatically refunded or rescheduled, though we will try to accommodate where we can.

If a child’s attendance falls below a level where meaningful progress is possible, we may discuss alternative arrangements with you.

6. Parent/Carer Responsibilities

By engaging our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information about your child’s needs, including any relevant medical conditions, behavioural considerations, or safeguarding concerns

  • Inform us promptly of any changes to your child’s circumstances, health, or educational provision that may affect their sessions

  • Share relevant sections of your child’s EHCP or professional reports where this would help us support your child more effectively

  • Support your child’s learning between sessions where guidance is provided

  • Cooperate with our safeguarding policies and procedures

  • Treat our staff, tutors, and other families with respect

7. Safeguarding

StriveSEN takes safeguarding extremely seriously. All tutors and staff working with children hold valid Enhanced DBS checks. We operate in accordance with a written Safeguarding Policy which is available on request.

If we have concerns about a child’s welfare or safety, we are legally obliged to share relevant information with the appropriate authorities. This obligation overrides confidentiality and data protection considerations. We will handle such situations with sensitivity, but we will not hesitate to act where a child may be at risk.

8. Intellectual Property

10. Limitation of Liability

StriveSEN provides tutoring and learning support services with reasonable care and skill. However:

  • We do not guarantee specific educational outcomes, improvements in grades, or changes in behaviour. Every child is different, and progress depends on many factors beyond our control.

  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information provided on our website, in our resources, or during conversations with our staff, except where such loss or damage results from our negligence or breach of these Terms.

  • Our total liability to you in respect of any claim arising from or in connection with our services shall not exceed the fees paid by you for the 4-week block during which the issue arose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

11. Termination

Either party may end the tutoring arrangement at any time by giving reasonable written notice. Where possible, we ask that notice is given before the start of a new 4-week block.

StriveSEN reserves the right to discontinue services immediately if:

  • There is a serious safeguarding concern

  • A parent or carer behaves in a way that is abusive, threatening, or unreasonable toward our staff, tutors, or other families

  • Information provided to us is found to be materially false or misleading

  • Fees remain unpaid after reasonable attempts to resolve the matter

12. Complaints

We are committed to providing a high standard of service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our provision, please contact us at hello@strivesen.com in the first instance. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to resolve it within 15 working days.

A copy of our full Complaints Policy is available on request.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated revision date. Where changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you directly. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
