Literacy & Reading Support
Helping your child read, write, and express themselves with growing confidence.
For many children we work with, reading doesn’t come easily. They might be able to sound out words but struggle to understand what they’ve read, or they can talk about their ideas but freeze when asked to write them down. Over time, that gap between what they can do and what school expects chips away at their confidence.
This programme meets your child where they are and builds from there — whether that’s strengthening the basics of phonics, developing fluency in reading, or helping them put their thoughts into writing clearly.
Sessions are delivered in 4-week blocks within small groups of up to 3 children, and cost £120 per block. To get started, book an initial assessment and we’ll help you find the right fit for your child.
What We Focus On
- Reading fluency — moving beyond sounding out individual words toward reading smoothly and with understanding
- Comprehension — helping your child follow what they’ve read, pick up on meaning, and think about the text rather than just decode it
- Written expression — building the skills to organise thoughts, write in clear sentences, and approach school writing tasks without anxiety
- Phonics and spelling — for children who need it, structured support with letter-sound relationships, blending, and spelling patterns to make sure the foundations are solid
How This Works
Sessions run in small groups of up to 3 children, so your child gets close attention in a calm, focused setting. Each 4-week block has clear goals, and we review progress with you at the end. We work at your child’s pace — building confidence first, then gradually increasing the challenge as they’re ready.
If your child has an EHCP with literacy-related outcomes, we can align sessions to support those targets.
Who This Is For
This programme is for children who:
- Can read but struggle with understanding what they’ve read
- Find writing difficult or avoid it
- Need structured support with phonics and spelling
- Have lost confidence in literacy and need a patient, step-by-step approach to rebuild it
