Phonics & Foundational Literacy
Helping your child build confidence in reading, spelling, and writing from the ground up.
Some children need more time and a different approach to get reading off the ground. They might struggle to connect letters with sounds, find it hard to blend words together, or lose confidence because reading feels difficult compared to their peers.
This programme is designed for younger learners and children who need structured support with early literacy. We go at your child’s pace, building skills step by step so they feel successful along the way rather than left behind.
Sessions are delivered in 4-week blocks and cost £120 per block. To get started, book an initial assessment and we’ll help you find the right fit for your child.
What We Focus On
- Letter-sound recognition — making sure your child can confidently connect letters to the sounds they make
- Blending and segmenting — the core skills needed to read and spell new words
- Early reading fluency — building your child’s ability to read smoothly and with understanding
- Spelling patterns — helping your child spot and use common patterns rather than memorising every word
- Written confidence — supporting your child to put words and sentences on the page without anxiety
How This Works
Sessions run in small groups in a calm, low-pressure environment. Each 4-week block has clear goals, and we review your child’s progress with you at the end. We use structured, step-by-step methods that work well for children with additional learning needs, including those with autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties.
If your child has an EHCP with literacy-related outcomes, we can align sessions to support those targets.
Who This Is For
This programme is for children who:
- Are at the early stages of learning to read
- Need reinforcement of phonics and core literacy skills
- Have fallen behind in reading and need a structured way to catch up
- Benefit from a patient, step-by-step approach in a small group setting
